Matilda started dancing when she was 3 years old, and has experience in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and Commercial, styles. She is still actively training and competing in these styles at present and has achieved honours in all Cecchetti Ballet examinations to date.

Tilly has recently had the experience of training in Melbourne with ‘Rise’ and CentreStage Performing Arts School in 2025, and has thoroughly enjoyed working with amazing teachers and mentors to assist in her training.

​

In 2026 Tilly is training at Kelly Aykers Full Time Dance where she is thoroughly enjoying furthering her dance education and applying new knowledge to her classes. 

​

In 2023 and 2024, Tilly obtained a Certificate II & Certificate III in Dance, which she completed as a part of her secondary education, skills that are an absolute asset to her classes.

​

Tilly has been a well known part of the musical theatre scene in Ballarat for many years now, performing in hit shows such as ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Annie’, ‘9 to 5’, and ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Tilly has recently performed in the ‘& Juliet' in 2026 and is set to choreograph BLOC Juniors 2026 production of 'Joseph and his technicolor dream coat'.

Upon joining the SMDS teaching team in 2025, Tilly has become a very loved member of our studio very quickly! We are so thrilled to have her teaching for us as a part of our Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre programs at SMDS
