As Ballarat's Home for Modern and Commercial Dance; we believe a ‘tried and tested’ and ‘one size fits all approach’ just doesn’t suit everyone and know that every student is unique and can’t wait to tap into the strengths of those coming our way!

In 2020 we became a dance school, but a dance school with a difference.
A place that dancers can feel at home while exploring their own talents and creativity, whilst also being offered performance and developmental experience in a dance community that is supportive, inclusive, modern and inspiring.

At Soraya McKee Dance Society, we offer styles to Ballarat dancers that are modern, fresh and performed by the industry professionals of today.

In starting SMDS, the aim was to create a safe space for dancers of all backgrounds to feel nurtured, respected and encouraged to be the best they can be.
